Georgia Senate Resolution Acknowledges Scientology Haiti Disaster Responders--Next Relief Phase Launched at Los Angeles Event

The Honorable Donzella James, Georgia State Senator, presented representatives of the Scientology Haiti Disaster Response Team with Georgia State Resolution SR998 this afternoon, acknowledging the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Corps, at an event hosted by the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International in Los Angeles.

Six weeks after the 7.0 earthquake decimated Haiti, with the immediate medical emergency over and the rainy season beginning, this event also marked the launch of the next phase of Scientology Haiti Disaster Response.

At Saturday's ceremony, first responders who worked in Port-au-Prince hospitals and clinics gave their perspective on the relief effort--what has been done and what is still needed.

The dozens of doctors, nurses, EMTs and Scientology Volunteer Ministers from the greater Los Angeles area who traveled to Haiti in the first weeks of the disaster were be acknowledged for their work.

Senator Donzella James acknowledged the Volunteer Ministers for their disaster response work and handed over a resolution of the Georgia Senate highly commending the work of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers in Haiti and other disaster areas.
