Volunteer Ministers have been activated in the Balkans region after a State of Emergency was declared in Bosnia and Serbia due to the worst flooding in 120 years. Overflowing rivers burst into towns and villages, cutting off whole communities, while landslides buried houses. Thousands of people are being  evacuated.

A team of Volunteer Ministers on a Goodwill Tour in Belgrade immediately deployed to the zone and started helping on the floods relief efforts together with local authorities and other emergency groups.

The Volunteer Ministers set up in a shelter in Belgrade distributing food, water and helping those in the shelter to get the help they needed. A Call for Action has now been launched based on the needs assesment from the first teams on the ground, to get hundreds more volunteers from the Serbia region activated.
