CURRENT PRIORITY NEEDS IN HAITI

An up-to-date on the ground assessment was done in Haiti. Based on this the most important and urgent needs were isolated.
These are:
VOLUNTEER MINISTERS AND VOLUNTEERS WITH THE FOLLOWING SKILLS OR DISASTER AREA EXPERIENCE:
- Search and Rescue experience- Anybody with skills in setting up communication lines - Coordination skills - Crowd control skills
MATERIALS THAT ARE MOST URGENTLY NEEDED:
18 Jan 2010 - 3pm - Midwife and Scientology Volunteer Minister delivers baby

We just received news from Port-au-Prince that Scientology Volunteer Minister, Karen, is teamed up with an obstetrician and "delivered a baby girl about an hour ago. Mother named her 'my love'."
Please help to give "My Love" a future!

12 trained Volunteer Ministers got on a plane in Miami at 5:30am this morning and are en route to Haiti!
The Church of Scientology of Miami trained a team of Haitian nationals in disaster response techniques, and helped arrange their transportation to Haiti where they will join with the Scientology Volunteer Ministers team in Port-au-Prince to provide help to victims of the Haiti earthquake.

John Travolta, who is a licensed pilot and owns his own plane, is lending his plane to Haiti for assistance. Hollyscoop quotes him: “I have arranged for a plane to take down some volunteer ministers and some supplies and some medics. I hope that inspires others as well.

Scientology Volunteer Ministers meeting local organizers at the airport in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, at 5:34 pm local time.
Close to 130 medical doctors, EMTs and Scientology Volunteer Ministers landed safely in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where they met up with a second group of Volunteer Ministers that made it on the land route from the Domenican Republic to Port-au-Prince.

Fox TV coverage, January 16: Nearly 130 doctors, nurses, EMTs and ministers left from Kennedy Airport for Haiti.
They got the call last night and dropped everything to go. The Church of Scientology organized the charter flight.
